My Great Lakes Rebuild Helpers.
As with any project of this size and timescale, from time to time you will have to call on the help and assistance of friends and family. I am working on this project 90% of the time on my own, however from time to time I do need an extra set of hands - which is mostly Jo. However, when people visit us they usually want to be involved. Here are the people who have helped me during my Great Lakes project.

Jo

Undertaking such a large project as restoring this Great Lakes, could only be acheived with the support of my partner Jo. If it was not for Jo I could could never spend the time rebuilding this aeroplane. As soon as I needed any help she is right there! Jo has been as equally commited to rebuilding the Great Lakes as if she was stitching every wing. Thanks Jo.
Andy
Andy
My brother. I called him up one day and told him of my crazy idea about flying out to Phoenix to buy an old bi-plane to restore. He was up for it and dropped everthing and we were soon out on a BA flight to Phoenix doing 12 hr days packing an aircraft in 100+ heat! Thanks Andy, without your help I would have really struggled to get the Lakes back to the UK. Andy doesn't live close by, which is a shame because I know he was keen to see the project through to the end.

Well Dave I sort of blame for me having the Great Lakes. Another friend Robert introduced me to the type but when Dave invited me round to his house to do some rib stitching on his Great Lakes I was hooked. The following day I surfed the internet and discovered 13L.
Dave has also been an invaluable source of information from where to get some materials to the length of the anti-drag wires.
Barry

Dave introduced me to Barry, as he was inspecting his Great Lakes. Barry is my LAA inspector for my Great Lakes - and now my RV7 too (he is a nice guy). He comes round and checks all the work and agrees what needs doing in the first place. Barry is another great source of information and sound advice. I still owe him a flight in my RV7.

My other technical consultant , he regularly (my most frequent workshop visitor) comes to keep an eye on progress and advise where necessary Here he is inspecting the wing walk and ribs. He is fussy and insists on everything being puuurrrfect (sorry had to ge that one in).
