My First Flight in a Great Lakes

My Great Lakes 2T-1A-2 Rebuild Diary 2008.

09-January-2008. Right hand lower wing.
Finished taking the wing apart. Got replacement spars out ready to start drilling holes.

All the ribs removed, just centre wood rib to remove.

Lower to upper wing mount.

Front wing spar removed.

This is one of the front spar holes, it appears to have been repaired. This must have been when new as the wing spar does not appear to have been removed.

The old and new spars. I was very worried when I got the new spars out. Can you see why?

Look at the part numbers. They are wrong! The new rear spar has the part number of the front spar and the front spar has the part number of the rear!! Got a shock when I first matched the spars up and the appeared wrong until I realised the part numbers were incorrect.

I have clamped the old spar to the new spar to match drill the holes.
