My Great Lakes 2T-1A-2 Rebuild Diary 2007.

29-September-2007. Had planned to go flying today - RV fly-in at Fenland. Rain and low cloud until 3pm. So decided to have a day in the workshop instead. Finished fitting rivets to elevators and applied tapes.

I have also created a HELP ME page on this site for areas/parts etc that I don't know what fits. Please have a look especially if you have a Great Lakes 2T-1A-2.
Here is this evenings progress:

First apply reinforcement tape.
I had not punched the holes through the anti chafe tape before covering - as I did on the HS. So it took me a while to find the holes. I punched the holes through the fabric then applied the reinforcement tape. I then punched a hole through the tape - not easy.
One side of the elevator complete.
My Great Lakes is riveted instead of rib stiched.
After riveting tape is applied over the top, again with Rand-o-proof.
A rivet under the tape.
One HS complete. I have left the inner row as I need to fit an inspection panel.
Both elevators with rib tapes in place.
