My Great Lakes 2T-1A-2 Rebuild Diary 2007.

29-October-2007. Working on the centre section. Dismantled the centre section to finish drilling rear spar bolts and to varnish. Oscar came to help.......


Here is this evenings progress:

The rear spar with first layer of varnish and rear ribs fitted.
These are the fill in strips between the ribs for the ply panel to be glued to. They will be glued to the top of the rear spar, then the ply glued along with some screws..
My Great Lakes technical consultant - Oscar. Came to inspect the quality of my wood shavings.
The last spar bracket bolt goes from top to bottom. I had left drilling this as I didn't have a drill long enough.
This is a difficult hole to drill.
As you can see from the bolt, the hole has to be acurate.
The top of the spar is at an angle so needs a packing piece.
Last part cut and bolt in place.
My technical consultant taking a rest - it was such hard work.
