My Great Lakes 2T-1A-2 Rebuild Diary 2007.

19-December-2007. One job I need to do is refurbish the engine baffles, and as I need to put the engine in storage I decided to remove them now. I will rebuild/renew them all.

Here is todays progress:

My Great Lakes is fitted with a Lycoming AEIO-360.
Front left.
The cylinder fins have warn through the baffle in places.
The baffles even go round the alternator and starter.
The large ring on the back of the baffle was where the heater was connected - removed due to AD.
Lots of pipes as I have a Christian inverted oil system.
Cooling pipe from baffle to alternator
I also have a CHT monitor so there are also wires and probes for that!
The blank has been fitted to this baffle - was for the oil cooler (Mod was made to move the oil cooler air to the cowel).
The baffles bolt to the alternator.
